CHARLESTON IN SPRING!
2003 Reunion Location Set

JOIN THE CHOPPER
ASSOCIATION!

Following consideration of five excellent sites for our next USS Chopper reunion (which included Mobile, AL, Muskegon, MI, Manitowoc, WI, Charleston SC and Bangor, WA), Charleston, SC was selected due to it's many attractions, not the least of which being the USS Clamagore, a sister ship to Chopper, and the concentration  of Chopper SubVets living within a 500 mile radius.

Charleston is one of America's most beautifully preserved architectural and historic treasure, with a rich, 300-year history just waiting to be discovered. Hundreds of significant and lovingly preserved structures from the colonial and antebellum periods grace the Historic District's narrow streets. Church bells toll the hour as history unfolds around each and every corner. In no other place are the past and present more intertwined.

The USS Chopper Association was formed at the 2001 Kings Bay Reunion with the purpose of facilitating contacts and fellowship between former crewmen of USS Chopper and to manage the reunions at the times and places designated by the membership.

Pat Householder (62-63) was selected President and Bob Stamper (55-57) is Treasurer/Reunion Coordinator for the 2001-2003 period.  This newsletter is one of the methods of communications established by the Association.

To support the purposes of the Association, a nominal $ 10.00 annual dues per family is charged  In cases of financial hardship, this dues may be waived.  70+ attendees joined the Association at the Kings Bay reunion
